1) As mentioned before, be sure to rename the HyperFinder stack to "Home" after you have made a copy to your hard disk. You can get rid of the Apple Home stack since I have kept all of the Apple Home Stack features in HyperFinder.
2) If you want Hyperfinder to Autoboot when you turn on your Mac, Find the HyperCard Icon on your drive and click on it once to highlight it. Then go to the "Special" Menu in the Finder, and Choose "Set Startup" to HyperCard. Again, You must have the HyperCard Icon highlighted in order to "Set Startup" to HyperFinder. Then Restart your Mac and it will boot right to HyperCard/HyperFinder/Home!!!!
3) The "COMPACT STACK" feature under the file menu should ONLY be used with HyperFinder/Home in the following way.... After you have "ADDED" all of the Programs and Documents you plan to add, go back to the Home Card and Quit.
Then Reopen HyperCard and if you wish Compact any free space that is left. If you try and Compact the stack just after using the ADD buttons, you will lose the Icon picture but not the button itself. Therefore you would have to re-ADD those icons.
The best policy is NOT to COMPACT any stack unless : a) you have a copy and b) there are alot of free K's showing in the STACK INFO box.
4) HyperFinder works on a minumum of 1 MB but it really cruises nicely with at least 2 megabytes of RAM and running under Multifinder! Under the normal Finder... HyperFinder/Home will load your programs or docs after it auto-quits HyperCard. It then re-opens after you are done with that program. Under MultiFinder, HyperFinder does not quit, but stays in memory so you can jump back to it at any time so you can quickly grab another document or load another program if you need to. This is what really makes HyperFinder worth 100 bucks to me when I need to get something fast without having to look for it.
5) HyperFinder is able to handle any size Hard Drive and can customized to be used for Special Applications such as CD ROM, Video LaserDisks, and any High capicity storage device. Call 312-432-2463 if you have any special needs for HyperFinder.
6) You can create your own Buttons to execute Desk Accessories that you use alot. I have provided a couple that load the Control Panel, ScrapBook & NotePad. However, I also have buttons that run TOPS for me... , Go to The Chooser, and others....
7) If you're like me I hate using the Mouse to Pull down so many menus, and submenus... so that's why I created HyperFinder. The old "Point & Click" cliche gets lost if you're a power user and you have too many menus to pull down.
****** NOTICE ::: ONE LAST NOTE ... IF YOU HAVE FILENAMES THAT ARE REALLY LONG... HYPERFINDER WILL GIVE YOU ERROR MESSAGES ABOUT THAT FILENAME!
SIMPLY SHORTEN THE NAME TO LESS THAN 25 CHARACTERS!!!!
